University of Stellenosch: PDF Newsletter
Department of Statistics and Actuarial Sciences
We are very pleased and satisfied with our latest project, where we have been asked by our client for a 2nd time to design and publish their newsletter. They chose the PDF format for its obvious advantages, which I will explain below. The feedback was extremely positive and the newsletter very well received by all readers. You can find a copy of the actual newsletter by clicking on the image below.
An increasing number of clients are turning to us to design electronic newsletters in this format. The advantages of using a PDF are numerous for news, marketing and a variety of other purposes:
You get the advantage of a traditional printed newsletter/brochure and the email-newsletter combined in one. You get a fully styled end product of the same quality as a printed design, with the advantage of sending it to clients or posting it on your website where anyone can read or download it.
It is also very versatile, as you can design it for print (in case the client wants to have it commercially printed), supply the electronic version in almost any possible file size (depending on whether clients want to post it online, email it to clients or have it printed). You can also do changes fairly quickly in the original design application, and convert and get it back to the client in a short time.
You even get built in functions for large documents, like this newsletter, where the index on the front page is linked to the actual article page for ease of navigation. Have a look at the newsletter to test this function!
These are just some of the advantages of using a PDF for a variety of purposes.
